After converting all of your bookmarks from Delicious into Diigo I want you to do a compare and contrast of both.
Explain the differences, both good and bad
Explain how using Diigo differs from Delicious (how to bookmark and add tags)
I expect to see several well constructed paragraphs. Use the learning tutorial on Diigo if you need to. Also use the help.
Originally, I preferred Delicious over Diigo when we first looked at the two. However, since Delicious has made the changes that it did (stacks, new design, etc.), I have changed my mind.
ReplyDeleteDiigo is the old Delicious, which is very helpful for those who do not have time to explore the new Delicious website.
With the changes to Delicious, it is not much more complicated to add bookmarks, and if you have not used Delicious since the change has taken place, you may be very lost. They have also made it much harder to use tags and replaced it with folders - called stacks.
Overall, these changes have negatively affected Delicious, but I do realize that they only changed because they were bought out by another company.
At first glance, Diigo looked confusing, but once I downloaded the Diigo toolbar, it was easy to use. All you have to do is bookmark the web page using the Diigo toolbar.
ReplyDeleteAt first, Delicious was very useful, but it started making a myriad of changes, like stacks and a new, confusing design, which made it hard to use. These changes made it very difficult to bookmark the websites and keep them in one organized location.
In conclusion, I prefer Diigo over Delicious because Delicious's bookmarking has become very dificult.
I prefer Diigo because of the tab on my favorites bar that makes book marking sites so much easier than booking on Delicious. Diigo allows you to sort sites by tags and lists which makes finding related sites easy. I feel like Diigo is much more convient and that I will now bookmark many more sites.
ReplyDeleteI did like Delicious before they made the new changes which make their website unnecessarily confusing. During the changes we could not even log onto the site. It was hard to learn how to navigate their new site.
When I book marked on Delicious I copied and pasted the web address and with Diigo I just have to press a button. Convience is one of the main reasons that I will now be using Diigo for all of my bookmarking needs!

ReplyDeleteOriginally, I used to think that Delicious would always be the simpliest way to go, when it comes to bookmarking. Now that I have discovered, and used Diigo I couldn't be more wrong. In my opinion Diigo is a more simplistic form of Delicious.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, It was a hastle to converge all my bookmarks from delicious, it was well worth it.
With that being said, one thing I do like about Delicious is it's wide community. But one thing I don't like is it's different design, That has partially complicated the site itself. With Diingo, They're all about the ease of it all. That's why I would surely choose Diingo.
In conclusion, I would have chose Delicious if it weren't as complicated. With Diingo, I can breath easier while I bookmark with ease.
I was originally taught how to use Delicious. And I liked it because it was simple and easy to use. But since Delicous changed their site I find Delicous harder and more complicated to use. When we tried it in class it was hard to navigate to different tabs and it was hard to even do a book mark.
ReplyDeleteDelcious has a lot less that Diigo also. Diigo has bookmarks, group annotation, search , send to blog, diigolect, and enhanced link rolls. You can add notes and highlights to your tags and yo can also share them with a group. Another thing you can do is subscibe to different web pages.
Overall I think Diigo is the better site to use. The site offers more and with the Diigo toolbar, it is also a lot easier to use.
Diigo and Delicious are similair because they are both social bookmarking sites, but are also different. Originally I liked using Delicious, but as they updated it became harder to use. Once I made a Diigo account, I found it was not very hard to use.
ReplyDeleteThey are also similair in that when you tag a website you mus give it a title and can add descriptions and notes. I liked that I could transfer my bookmarks from Delicious to Diigo and they saved my tags.
They are different because in Diigo you can save images and notes too. You can also join networks and groups in Diigo. You can also create lists in Diigo to combine several websites in one place. Diigo is more convienient because all you have to do to add a bookmark is click a button on the toolbar. In Delicious you had to copy and paste the website in to your page which meant you had to have multiple tabs open.
I think Diigo is easier to use and plan to use it in place of Delicious for all of my bookmarking.
